| 1. FRLHT on a Transition Path. . . .Trimurti Avatar | Date: | |
|
The genesis of the FRLHT lies in an early experience of witnessing a rich tribal health tradition of the Thakur tribe in coastal Maharashtra in 1982. Realizing the need to document and assess these and similar other ecosystem and community specific health practices, a nation wide network of NGOs, Medical colleges and Research institutes called the Lok Swasthya Parampara Samvardhana Samithi (LSPSS) was subsequently born in 1986. It was these two experiences that threw up the idea of FRLHT which was born later in 1993. |
